Thank you for shopping with us here at Meadowbrook Nursery. We take great care in shipping your plants to ensure satisfaction. Here is a picture with the different pot sizes that we ship. Our plants are listed by their pot sizes, not their actual general sizes - From left to right - Heuchera 'Obsidian' in a 6" pot, Tiarella 'Heronswood Mist' in a 4" pot, Rhodo. 'Catawabiense Album' in an 8" pot, 'Forest Pansy' Redbudin a 6" pot and Heuchera 'Peppermint Spice' in a 6" Pot. There is a 36" ruler in the background. Hope this is helpful in deciding what our plants that we are shipping are going to look like when you receive them.

Offline Ordering

For your convenience and piece of mind, you may continue to place orders either by calling us directly at 828-738-8300, or by printing and filling out the PDF copy of our order form from this site and then faxing it to us at 828-287-9348. Additionaly, if you would like to use our online system to compile your order, you can simply print our checkout page for faxing or reference when you call.

PRINT ORDER FORM

We have included a Wish List feature that let's you create an account with a unique user name and password which allows you to save your plant selections for future reference. Our Wish List feature is also a great tool for printing your orders. We're happy to help you place your order and are always glad to hear from you by phone or email.

Shipping Information

We ship via UPS Ground for most orders. Occasionally, we may use the USPS, but most often UPS.

Our Shipping Costs:

For the following states: $15.00 min. charge or 25% of order total - AL, AR, CT ,DC, DE, FL ,GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MA , MD, MI ,MO, MS, NC, NJ, NH, NY ,OH, PA, RI ,SC, TN, VT,VA, WV

For the following states: $20.00 min. charge or 35% of order total - CO, IA, KS, ME, MN, ND, NE, OK, SD, TX, WI

For the following states: $45.00 min. shipping charge or 45% of order total - MT, NM, NV, UT, WY

Sorry, we do not ship to the following states: WA, AZ, OR, CA, HI, AK, ID or outside of the US.

For larger orders (orders totaling over $200.00) please contact us by phone to discuss; many times on larger orders we can offer some discounts on shipping, but this is on an order by order basis, and really varies greatly depending on the items ordered.

We do offer next day and 2nd day delivery if you would like; please give us a call to arrange.

Shipping Details
Remember that we ship good sized plants. Our pot sizes and plants are much larger than many other mail order nurseries, so our shipping costs must reflect the larger sized plants that we are shipping. We are confident that our plants will be much larger than most folks are accustomed to receiving.

We ship our plants year round with the exception of July and August, due to the hot weather in transport. If the weather is extremely hot or cold, either in your area or here at the nursery, we may hold off on shipping your order until the weather is more optimal. We try to look at all areas that we are shipping to on a daily basis to determine the best time to ship your plants. Our main shipping season is from mid-Feb until June. We will pick the best time for your area and zone for shipping your plants. If there is a specific time that you would like for us to ship your plants, please let us know with either an email or phone call.

We ship plants Mon-Weds of each week, to ensure that your plants will not be sitting in a non-climate controlled warehouse or truck over a weekend, and we have also found that most folks want their plants late in the week, to have them available for planting on the weekend.

You will get an email when your order is shipped to let you know when to expect your plant shipment, and to let you know the UPS tracking number so that you can track your package and know exactly when it will arrive.

How do we ship your plants?
We use UPS Ground for our shipments. Please refer to the charts for shipping costs. Sorry, if shipping seems high, but UPS costs have continued to increase even though fuel costs have stabilized somewhat. We really, really do not make any money on shipping charges; we have tried to establish rates that are as low as we can realistically ship plants. Please remember that there are also the costs of the boxes, packaging materials and the time to carefully pack your shipment for transport. We love plants just as much as you do, so we take the time to carefully select the best quality plants and package them with care, so that you can enjoy them for many years to come.

We assemble your order from plants that are housed in unheated, covered greenhouses to protect them from weather extremes, but still allow the plants to remain dormant, growing and protected. Next, we take most plants out of their pots, but retain the soil surrounding the roots. Then we wrap this soil covered rootball in a plastic stretch film to retain moisture. This is then placed in a plastic bag that is tied to keep any of the soil from escaping. Smaller 4" pots are wrapped in newspaper tubes and sent in their pots. The plants are then placed in a netting to keep them snug, and next we place the plants into cardboard boxes, snuggled with recyclable spun wood fibers and recycled shredded newspaper to keep them firmly in place, and not allow for shifting while in transit. We place identifying decals on the box along with the shipping information. Inside of your box we place a copy of your order and receipt. We do not include any credit card information with your orders.

Most of our plants are shipped in one of the following size boxes: 10"x10"x15", 28"x8"x8", 36"x8"x8", 48"x8"x8", and 24"x12"x12". The box size is dependent on the size and number of plants being placed in your order.
